The Department of Computer Science is offering Graduate Programs in the fields of Computer Science & Health Informatics. The Programs being offered are MS(CS), MS(HI), and PhD(CS).

MS COMPUTER SCIENCE

The MS program is for those individuals who have good scholastic background in the field of computer science or related disciplines and want to enhance their knowledge further. The course is tailored to encompass state-of-the-art concepts in the realm of computer science. Currently the department of Computer Science is offering MS(CS), for full time students and may offer similar program for part time students also.

Eligibility

A minimum of 16 years degree in any of the following fields:

• Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Basic Sciences: Physics/ Mathematics/ Statistics or
• Bio-Informatics or Management Sciences

However, the applicant seeking admission in MS(CS) program must have a sound background in the following areas of computer science: Data Structures and Algorithms, Programming Languages, Database Systems, Computer Networks, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Organization. In case a student does not have required proficiency in pre-requisite back ground in certain areas, he / she may be advised by the department to take some noncredit courses.

REGISTRATION IN PH. D

Direct registration in PhD is also possible for suitable scholars having MS / MPhil (18 years of education) in a related field in first division or CGPA of 3.0. Students have to complete 18 credit hrs of PhD level course work excluding the MS course works.

The research opportunities in the fields of Databases, Networking, Software Engineering and parallel / distributed computing using cluster/grid are available. The department owns dedicated research groups in the specified areas.
