Undergraduate Programs BS
The four-year BS program in Mathematics aims to provide students with mathematical skill required for applications in various areas of human endeavors and to prepare them for higher studies leading to MS and Ph.D. Besides being expert in mathematics as a subject in its own right, the graduates are equipped to demonstrate expertise in applied mathematics, industrial mathematics, financial mathematics, scientific computing, mathematical modeling etc. The BS Program is normally carried out in a timeframe of four years comprising eight semesters having 133 credits. The degree program is equivalent to sixteen years of education. This serves the requirement of basic degree in mathematics and the graduates can take up the specializations in pure mathematics, applied Mathematics, computational mathematics, industrial mathematics, financial mathematics etc. A solid foundation is developed to take up higher degree leading to Ms and Ph.D. at home and abroad. The graduates are fully equipped to join and work in R&D organizations and financial institutions and can move to other disciplines like economics, management sciences, actuarial sciences etc.
